Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and Firefighter of the Year: These programs were designed to honor men and women who serve as law enforcement officers or firefighters.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers worldwide converge on Washington, DC, to participate in several planned events that honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Every year, the Exchange Club honors our local heroes who lay their lives on the line daily for our community.

The Exchange Club of Northside Bloomington was the first Exchange Club in the nation to host a Police Officer of the Year Awards Ceremony, starting in 1961.
